William Griswold, DVM:  Dr. William “Billy” Griswold is the administrator and primary author of Priority Pet Hospital‘s blog.  Together with his wife, Karin Burns, DVM, Dr. Griswold owns and manages Priority Pet Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona.  Priority Pet Hospital is a pet-centered small animal practice providing complete, compassionate care to dogs and cats—and the people whose hearts they own.

Dr. Griswold has extensive experience in both general and emergency and critical care practice.  He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.  Dr. Griswold’s clinical and managerial interests include working dogs and canine athletes, dog behavior and training, and staff education and development.

Karin Burns, DVM:  Co-owner and Chief Medical Officer of Priority Pet Hospital, Dr. Burns has a wide range of experience in the medical and surgical care of dogs and cats and has worked in both private and corporate veterinary practices during her career.  She brings with her an appreciation of the strengths and weaknesses of each of these practice types—as well as their impact on patient and client care.  Dr. Burns is a 1998 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and holds bachelor’s degrees in animal science and microbiology.  Dr. Burns’ clinical and managerial interests include feline medicine and behavior, geriatric wellness, and client education.

Rana and Archie:  Drs. Griswold and Burns’ Deutsch Drahthaars.  “The Boys” offer our blog a bit of comic relief, as well as “pet’s eye views” of everything from veterinary care, to reviews of products and places, to life as a veterinarian’s pet.

Sarabi, Delta, and Cassidy:  The three tri-color cats who permit Drs. Griswold, Burns, and “The Boys” to share their home.  While they have little interest in work, the kitties may occasionally provide a cat’s perspective–and a little feline attitude–about topics important to America’s most popular pets.
